I've always loved spotting the little nods to old-school comics or animation styles in newer adult comics. Like, sometimes you’ll see a modern artist sneak in a background or character design that totally feels like something from 80s cartoons. I remember doing a series myself that borrowed a lot from European comics, especially the line work and panel flow. Anyone else here find themselves influenced by the classics, or is it mostly newer stuff for you? |

Oh, totally! I think it’s impossible not to pick up bits from older comics and animations, even if you’re mostly doing your own thing. Sometimes I’ll go through https://18comix.org just to get a sense of how different artists bring those vintage vibes into a more modern or adult context. It’s cool seeing mashups of classic American and Japanese styles too. For me, it’s always about finding what sticks and blending it with my own ideas—sometimes even just a color palette can trigger a whole new project. |

I’m not an artist but I do recognize those throwback styles when I see them. It’s always kind of a nostalgia trip. I think that mix of old and new is what keeps things fresh—there’s always something familiar but also different. |

Absolutely relate! I’ve always been fascinated by how older styles sneak into modern storytelling. There’s just something timeless about the clean line work and bold expressions from classic European and 80s cartoons that still hits hard today. I did a personal project not too long ago where I drew heavy inspiration from Moebius and a bit of Uderzo’s work — especially in the way panels breathe and flow. Honestly, I still find a lot of charm in classic influences — they bring a unique texture that newer digital styles sometimes miss. That said, I’ve been diving into some newer indie creators lately too, who do a great job blending both eras. I even shared some thoughts about this on my blog at https://stylish-name.in if anyone’s interested! |

If you’re still paying for overpriced cable, it’s time to reconsider. A Youtube TV promo code can make your first month super affordable and give you a taste of what modern TV should feel like. I used the $15-off promo and was impressed by the variety of live channels and how seamless it is across devices. Plus, there’s no contract, so there’s no risk. Don’t miss out—use a promo and see the difference for yourself. |
