I feel like community servers are what made CS 1.6 and a lot of old games really special. You never knew what you’d get — a serious clan server, or some wacky custom rules. It was always different and kept the game fresh. Do you think today’s games are missing that kind of community?

Definitely. Most games now are super controlled, you just queue and play whatever they give you. Community servers let you find your own vibe, meet people, and try weird stuff you’d never see in ranked matches. If you want to relive that feeling, it’s worth grabbing a CS 1.6 clean build and seeing what servers are still out there. I did that recently and found a few servers running classic maps with wild mods — took me right back to those unpredictable nights. Honestly, wish more new games had that level of freedom.

Yeah, even now you sometimes see classic servers pop up for old games. It’s proof that people still want that community feel, not just the matchmaking grind. Kind of miss those days.
