The iOS Setup Assistant helps users set up a new iPhone or iPad, but sometimes it can freeze, get stuck on the Apple ID login, iCloud setup, or activation screen. Here’s how to fix it.

1. Restart Your Device
A simple force restart can resolve setup assistant issues. Press and hold the Power + Volume Down buttons (or the Home button on older models) until you see the Apple logo.

2. Check Your Internet Connection
A weak Wi-Fi connection can cause setup failures. Try switching networks or resetting network settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings).

3. Skip Apple ID & iCloud Setup
If stuck on the Apple ID or iCloud page, select “Set Up Later in Settings”, then sign in after completing the setup.

4. Use iTunes or Finder to Update iOS
Connect your iPhone/iPad to a Mac (Finder) or PC (iTunes) and update your software to fix possible bugs.

5. Enter Recovery Mode (Last Resort)
If nothing works, put your device into Recovery Mode, then restore it via iTunes or Finder.
